Yeah, my jaw hit the floor. And apparently she discussed this with MY MOM, and "Grandma approved it".
I don't object to the tattoo or the meaning of it, I just think it's so young to choose permanent body art. I don't know what Jack is going to say. I can't say I'm surprised but I had hoped she'd wait to get ink until she was ..... much older.
And in a weird way, this just confirms to me that it's not just my own 'traditions' that keep Abby present in our family; Kim would never have chosen a tattoo like that if Abby's life hadn't impacted Kim's own life so much. Sometimes I would doubt myself and think I was 'pushing' Abby on the girls with my own traditions in honoring Abby's memory, but this tells me that they each have their own special place in their heart for Abby.
